Through that, I have felt encouraged and inspired to present my vision of a series of one thousand and one naked female figurines in terra cotta.
As individual figures they have long been present. But now, in the project
1001nackt, they will come together in numbers to form a community which will give full expression to all their joie de vivre and sensuality.

Through my figures, I too tell tales and want to awaken curiosity in others. These women express both courage and grace. They are completely absorbed in themselves, standing there in their matter of fact way, smiling in pleasure. The fact that they radiate joy and even beauty– although they in no way reflect current ideals - is my tribute to our constant longing for perfection.

It is the strength and presence of their imperfect beauty that I want to recreate and multiply into a memorable artistic experience.
